Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse - Pediatrics - QueensReports to: Head Nurse136-26 37th AvenueFlushing, New York, 11354United States Responsibilities:Perform nursing tasks and procedures under the direction of the registered nurse or authorized health care providersPerform patient interview, take and record medical history, and prepare patients for provider/nurse visitPerform and record standard vital signsCollect laboratory specimens as orderedAssist provider in procedures using sterile or aseptic techniquesExecute medical orders from selected authorized health care providersCollaborate with the care team to provide self-management support by counseling patients on medical problems, medication use, diet and disease prevention and health promotionParticipate in nursing Quality Improvement (QI) projects and other related clinical QI activitiesMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societiesMaintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapportParticipate in team problem-solving methodsPerform other unit specific duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with current license and registration in the State of New YorkBasic CPR (BCLS) Certification requiredCurrent NYS Infection Control & Barrier Precaution Training CertificatePrior work experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse preferredBilingual in English/Chinese preferred
