Full-Time Outreach CoordinatorReports To: Director of Social WorkFlushing Queens/Lower ManhattanNew YorkUnited States Responsibilities:Work closely with Program Manager to effectively implement the Consumer Assistance for the Aged, Blind and Disabled ProgramEstablish contacts with community groups to reach uninsured and underinsured populationConnect with organizations that service the Aged, Blind & Disabled population to raise community awareness of the Program and of Medicaid enrollment servicesPlan, schedule, and conduct outreach (i.e. street outreach, community events, and presentations senior centers) and train Enrollers on outreach and recruitment strategiesAttend and participate in staff meetings, trainings and conferencesCoordinate open-house to educate prospective applicants on their health insurance optionsEnroll clients into Medicaid programs with Medicare eligibility assessmentsTrack referrals and collaborations within and outside of the Health CenterProvide monthly report to the Manager on outreach statisticsPerform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, marketing or related fieldsThree years of health insurance enrollment & outreach work experience preferredMust be bilingual in Chinese, Korean, Spanish and/or BengaliSolid presentation skills and demonstrated ability to speak in public and in front of large groupsAbility to develop business contacts and collaborative professional relationshipsHigh computer proficiency, with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power PointAbility to manage conflicting prioritiesExcellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail
