Full-Time Outreach Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Social Work

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Program Manager to effectively implement the Consumer Assistance for the Aged, Blind and Disabled Program
  • Establish contacts with community groups to reach uninsured and underinsured population
  • Connect with organizations that service the Aged, Blind & Disabled population to raise community awareness of the Program and of Medicaid enrollment services
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct outreach (i.e. street outreach, community events, and presentations senior centers) and train Enrollers on outreach and recruitment strategies
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings and conferences
  • Coordinate open-house to educate prospective applicants on their health insurance options
  • Enroll clients into Medicaid programs with Medicare eligibility assessments
  • Track referrals and collaborations within and outside of the Health Center
  • Provide monthly report to the Manager on outreach statistics
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, marketing or related fields
  • Three years of health insurance enrollment & outreach work experience preferred
  • Must be bilingual in Chinese, Korean, Spanish and/or Bengali
  • Solid presentation skills and demonstrated ability to speak in public and in front of large groups
  • Ability to develop business contacts and collaborative professional relationships
  • High computer proficiency, with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $45,000 per year
