Full-Time Outreach Worker/Enroller

Reports To: Director of Social Work

Flushing Queens/Lower Manhattan

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Community Outreach Coordinator to effectively implement the Consumer Assistance for the ABD Program outreach activities
  • Assist to establish contacts with community groups to reach uninsured and underinsured population
  • Assist to connect with organizations that service the Aged, Blind & Disabled population to raise community awareness of the Program and of Medicaid enrollment services
  • Assist to plan, schedule, and conduct outreach (i.e. street outreach, community events, and presentations senior centers) to educate prospective applicants on their health insurance options
  • Identify, educate, and enroll qualified Aged, Blind & Disabled population individuals into the relevant Medicaid program with Medicare eligibility assessments
  • Assure that application is accurately completed and adhering to submission deadline dates
  • Attend internal and external trainings and meetings
  • Understand overall eligibility requirements for government-sponsored health insurance programs
  • Maintain timely knowledge of government-sponsored health insurance program updates or changes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • One year of health insurance enrollment & outreach work experience
  • Must be bilingual in Chinese, Korean, Spanish and/or Bengali
  • Skills in developing business contacts and collaborative professional relationships is preferred
  • Computer proficiency, with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
 Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: $42,000 per year
