Full-Time Care Team Associate - Pediatrics - Queens

The Care Team Associate is a trained medical office assistant who will be assigned to either a medical assisting or patient services representative role, based on the needs of the clinical unit. 

Responsibilities:

  • Registration competencies
    • Complete all aspects of registration, including insurance verification and sliding fee scale
    • Handle phone calls appropriately
    • Monitor patient flow and address wait time or other concerns
    • Assess and assist with patient needs including questions regarding insurance, scheduling, and referral
    • Collaborate with other care team members to address patient needs
  • Medical assisting competencies
    • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vitals, phlebotomy, EKG, Point-of-Care, CLIA-waived procedures, other routine procedures and tasks as assigned
    • Conduct screening using standardized tools, interview patients, take history, and chart documentation
    • Offer preventive screening services and provide patient health education
    • Disinfection and tidiness of clinical area and medical equipment
    • Conduct pre-visit planning, manage provider panel and support smooth patient flow
    • Assist with inventory management
    • Assist provider with office procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Associates Degree, equivalent college credits, or 2 years of work experience
  • Work experience in the health care field preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • Basic CPR (BCLS) Certification required (Health Center will provide if needed)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with co-workers
  • Respond promptly to requests
  • Adapt to changes in practice operations and workflows as they emerge
  • Approach work with a good attitude and flex
  • Good problem solving skills

 Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $50,000.00 - 52,000.00 per year
