Full-Time Health Educator

Reports To: Program Coordinator

  • Responsible for the delivery of educational service for Pediatric programs

  • Provide health education support to Pediatric Department’s children and adolescent programs, and other departmental programs

  • Plan, develop, and implement various community health projects

  • Develop bilingual health education materials including brochures, audiotapes, videotapes and related educational materials

  • Develop bilingual outreach materials and conduct community outreach

  • Plan and facilitate health education workshops

  • Provide patient education on health-related concerns

  • Train TRC and Pediatric staff on various health educational topics for workshops

  • Coordinate on and off-site outreach activities with community schools, agencies, and media

  • Act as liaison between Pediatrics Department and Health Education Department to coordinate the translation, publication, and the marketing of Pediatric program and activities for the community

  • Represent Pediatrics Department & Health Center in internal and external committees

  • Participate in community and street fairs

  • Promote Pediatric unit programs and services

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Traveling required (Manhattan site & Flushing site)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum BS or BA Degree

  • Prior experience working with community based or youth organizations preferred

  • Bilingual in English/Chinese preferred
