Full-Time Patient Services Representative - Chinatown - Internal Medicine

Reports To: Internal Medicine Unit Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate registration for patients in Internal Medicine Services Unit
  • Assist new patients with filling out registration form
  • Verify patients’ financial eligibility (i.e., Medicaid card, documents for income determination, etc.)
  • Responsible for orientation new patients to CBWCHC procedures including the distribution of patient bill of rights and HIPAA Privacy Notice and documentation of consent
  • Input registration information into computer
  • Orient patient to Internal Medicine unit general policies
  • Prepare appropriate forms for medical record as needed
  • Collect necessary fee
  • Help patient in scheduling future appointments
  • Input appointments into computer and on patient's appointment card
  • Responsible for daily cash accounting and safekeeping
  • Cultural sensitivity-greet patient and direct patients to proper services
  • Communication, take message and communicate, assists patients as needed
  • Promote Internal Medicine Unit Services and Programs
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Bilingual in English/Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
  • Typing or computer knowledge
  • Reception experience preferred
