Full-Time 2020 Project AHEAD Coordinator (temporary summer position)

Responsibilities:

This is a temporary summer position, which begins on Monday, June 8, 2020 and ends on Friday, August 21, 2020.

The position is responsible for coordinating the Health Center’s Project AHEAD (Asian Health Education And Development) internship, a 9-week summer training program for undergraduate college student interested in careers in healthcare. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing supervision and guidance to 7 - 8 interns during the program
  • Overseeing the development of the intern's community health project
  • Organizing and supervising seminars, workshops, and field trips
  • Serving as a role model to interns and providing guidance and counseling on career paths in healthcare
  • Acting as a liaison between the Health Center and Project AHEAD interns
  • Developing the program content to ensure a positive learning experience
  • Completing individual intern evaluations based on program criteria
  • Maintain accurate records of the internship program and participants background
  • Completing a progress report and final report for Project AHEAD Director
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Medical or graduate student
  • Knowledge of Asian American health and communities
  • Experience in developing community health interventions
  • Experience in mentoring college students and working with groups
